
Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Tarek el Mala underlined the importance of raising the efficiency and developing national grid of natural gases to offer it to the consuming sectors so as to support the economic developmental plans.
He stressed also the need to abide by the timetable to implement the gas grid projects to provide new electricity stations with natural gas to increase the capacity of the national electricity grid.
These remarks came during the meeting of the General Assembly of the Egyptian Company for Natural Gas (GASCO) headed by el Mala on Sunday to accredit the outcome of its activities in 2015.
The minister demanded resuming the developing of the infrastructure of the natural gas national network and the main control center (NATA).
For his part, the Head of GASCO Karim Mahmoud discussed the companies activities which included distributing 48 billion square meters of gas to the consuming sectors, especially to the electricity one. (MENA)
