Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA)
Algiers - APS

The mediation team under Algiers process, Mali's government and the Malian armed movements that signed the roadmap of negotiations part of Algiers Process, have condemned Thursday "in the strongest possible terms" the terrorist attack perpetrated Tuesday against a convoy of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).
The terrorist act claimed the lives of four peacekeepers from Chad and seriously wounded six others on Kidal-Aguelhok road.
The mediation team comprises Algeria, the United Nations (UN), the African Union (AU), the European Union (EU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Burkina-Faso, Mauritania, Niger and Chad.
The mediation team and the parties to the conflict present in Algiers said in a joint statement "these incessant attacks against soldiers of neighbouring and friendly countries participating in MINUSMA are disrupting the ongoing peace dialogue process, which is supported by the international community."
They reiterate their "strong commitment" to continuing efforts for comprehensive and lasting peace in Mali, and reaffirmed their "firm position of condemning terrorism in all its forms."
On this occasion, they offered their condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the government and the people of Chad.
