Parliament speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim said Sunday meetings between members of the executive and legislative authorities reflected solidarity of Kuwait's society.
"Differences in views will not harm the common causes," Al-Ghanim told reporters after hosting a dinner banquet for members of the parliament and government.
He said atmosphere of the meeting reflected a strong desire for a constructive legislative session, due to be opened Tuesday.
Al-Ghanim the last legislative term should be analyzed in order to avoid mistakes in future.
The speaker expressed optimism of a "successful" legislative term.
He underlined that questioning was a legitimate right for every MP but must be within "sound constitutional frameworks." Al-Ghanim was asked about the interpellations in the past legislative session, and said grillings did not hamper achievements. "We witnessed 12 interpellations most of them were constitutional, and the house dealt with them in a constitutional manner ... ," he added.
The parliament, said Al-Ghanim, succeeded in aborting all attempts to undermine constitutional methods.
