Dubai - Arab Today

The 9th edition of the international exhibition for paper, tissue and converting industry, Paper Arabia 2016, concluded on a high note on Thursday (15 December 2016) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Organised by Al Fajer Information and Services, the exhibition attracted thousands of trade visitors over three days.

Paper Arabia 2016, the first-of-its-kind industry expo, focused on corrugated and carton industry, highly demanded in so many regional markets in the mean time. It also underscored the importance of adopting greener and smarter solutions to allow the use of sustainable paper and environmental friendly packaging.

Paper Arabia 2016 has presented over three days latest paper conversion solutions and latest related technologies. The exhibition also threw light on new machineries and manufacturing equipments from so many parts of the world.

Paper Arabia 2016 offered an ideal opportunity to meet pioneers in the field of paper and tissues as well as discussed latest trends, technologies and applications in the paper industry.

"International companies from Europe, Canada and Morocco, along with Saudi Paper Group from KSA and Fine Hygienic Paper FZE, UAE have participated in 9th Paper Arabia," said Satish Khanna, General Manager, Al Fajer Information and Services, the show’s organisers.

Newsprint represents now less than 10 percent of the consumption of the overall general commodity paper in the UAE compared to more than 12 percent in 2014 thanks to the digital and social media boom still going on in the UAE and wider region.

"Newsprint paper includes newspapers and magazines whereas general commodity paper includes office paper, notebooks, business cards, books, wedding cards, greeting cards and corporate and marketing collateral," Khanna added.

"Local, regional and international companies introduced new eco-friendly solutions at the exhibition in light of the rapid growth of paper, fabric and converting sectors in Middle East and North Africa (MENA)," said Lamyae Zafati, Exhibition Manager.

"Paper Arabia discussed the potential and growth of the papers, tissues and manufacturing sectors in the Middle East. The exhibition has attracted many international companies in the field of paper, tissue and paper production along companies specialised in the production and manufacturing of industrial machines and equipment related to paper sector," she added.
