Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah thanked on Saturday the Egyptian government and people for hosting the rebuilding Gaza conference due to be held on Sunday in Cairo in cooperation with Norway.
In a press conference in Cairo, Hamdallah said “Egypt is considered a historical supporter to Palestine since the Nakba until now.”
He hoped the outcome of the conference will be positive and that financial aid will be reached as quick as possible in order to rebuild the Gaza Strip after the recent Israeli aggression on the enclave .
He added that the Palestinian national consensus government will supervise the reconstruction of Gaza and will also work on ending Israeli occupation.
He pointed out "we still hope that the US will play a crucial role in the current period via pressuring Israel in order to help Palestinians establish an independent state and end the occupation in line with international laws and norms.”
