
Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki on Saturday sent a cable to his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shouki, condoling with him over the death of dozens of army servicemen in Friday's attack in North Sinai.
Malki strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted Egyptian troops in Sheikh Zuwaid near the border with the Gaza Strip.
"Palestine stands by the sisterly Egypt in its fight against terrorism," the top Palestinian diplomat said.
"We support the Egyptian leadership's decisions to achieve security and stability, he added.
He extended condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
