The Palestinians are in dire need to finding a comprehensive solution, away from any forms of distractions, to put an end to their suffering under constant Israeli violence, Kuwait National Assembly Speaker and Head of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) Marzouq Al-Ghanim stressed Thursday Al-Ghanim made this remark in his opening speech at an urgent session held by the Arab Parliament at the Arab Leagues' Headquarters in Cairo.
The Palestinian cause has been the focal point of the Arab political discourse in the past 70 years, he emphasized.
The alarming situation in the Palestinian territories and the escalating aggression of the Israelis against the innocent Palestinians are the reason for holding this emergency session, Al-Ghanim pointed out to the assembly.
The urgent session was also requested by speaker of the Palestinian National Council Salim al-Zanoon.
Al-Ghanim explained that the Palestinian cause is the root of unrest in the Arab and Islamic Worlds. The Palestinians suffering is an embodiement of all feelings of wrath and oppression; the main causes of underdevelopment, poverty and the suffocation of all voices of democracy.
Al-Ghanim reiterated the importance of working on finding realistic approaches and new channels of communications to round up Arabs' efforts to bring back the Palestinians' unity, freedom and rights.
