Palestine called on the Arab League to support its initiative to launch ten-day air, sea and land bridges for transporting relief materials to the Gaza Strip, in parallel with the indirect Egyptian-brokered negotiations to achieve a cease-fire.
Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat stressed the need to back the Egyptian initiative for a ceasefire in Gaza that reached a fresh 72-hour truce that kicked off on Monday.
He also expressed hope Egypt will continue its efforts to reach a lasting truce to protect the Palestinian people in Gaza.
An urgent meeting by the Arab League Foreign Ministerial Council was held on Monday to follow up the implementation of its decisions taken during a meeting on July 14 on ending the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
