Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will brief Arab Foreign Ministers in their meeting next Sunday about an action plan aimed at ending Israeli occupation, a Palestinian envoy said Monday.
Jamal Shobaki, the permanent representative to the Arab League, said Abbas would talk about "the future political battle regarding the provision of international protection of the Palestinians and preventing recurrence of (Israeli) aggression." Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Palestine and occupied Arab territories Mohammad Sabeeh, Shobaki called on UN Security Council to issue a resolution that compel Israel to end occupation of Arab lands on the basis of the two-state solution.
He said Abbas would also attend a special meeting of the Arab peace initiative committee to discuss the Palestinian cause.
Shobaki said the Arab Group in New York was exerting efforts to prevent an American veto against the proposed UN resolution that would end the Israeli occupation to pave way for the establishment of the Palestinian state.
