OSHAD
Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management, IIRSM, has reinforced its relationship with the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Centre, OSHAD, by renewing its commitment to the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, between the two parties, and by awarding OSHAD’s Director-General, Dr. Jaber A Jaberi, with an Honorary Fellowship of the Institute.

IIRSM Chief Executive, Phillip Pearson, also presented an Honorary Fellowship to OSHAD Deputy Director-General, Ms. Reem Al Nuaimi, at the IIRSM’s UAE AGM and Symposium, at which Ms. Al Nuaimi gave the keynote address.

The one day symposium was attended by risk and safety professionals from throughout the region. Honorary Fellows are awarded the title in recognition of their wider contribution to the health, safety and risk profession, and for their significant support of IIRSM's vision and mission.

Under the terms of the MoU, the two bodies agreed to maintain a sustainable partnership focusing on areas of risk management, competency development, publications and technical events.

Mr. Pearson also presented a certificate for Corporate Membership to OSHAD and recognised the competency of five senior staff members by awarding them certificates for Full Member Grade.

The memberships were awarded in recognition for OSHAD’s contributions and accomplishments in "Providing A Safe Workplace for All."

Pearson said that the collaboration between the IIRSM and OSHAD is crucial for growth and strategic development in risk management practice in the UAE and UK.

"We are very proud to award these Fellowships, which is one of our highest accolades, to Dr. Al Jaberi and Ms. Reem Al Nuaimi in recognition of the significant strategic role they play in OSH compliance within workplaces across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. OSHAD adopts the highest standards and approach to risk and safety management practices while establishing the Occupational Safety and Health System Framework for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi."

Speaking on receiving his award, Dr. Al Jaberi said, "On behalf of OSHAD, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to IIRSM for these esteemed memberships. We are honoured for the recognition of our contributions towards "Providing A Safe Workplace for All". These are proud moments for OSHAD."
