Defense Minister Mohammad bin Salman
Riyadh - Arab Today

Oman has joined the anti-terrorism coalition of Muslim nations led by Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammad bin Salman al Saud received a letter in this regard from Omani Defense Minister Badr ben Saed Bosaidi.

The message was carried by the Omani ambassador to the kingdom.

In December 2015, Saudi Arabia announced the formation of a group of 34 Muslim nations to coordinate military operations against terrorism and fight Daesh.

The coalition has now 40 members.

Daesh militants have ceased vast areas in Syria and Iraq, taking advantage of the unrest that followed Arab Spring protests.
