The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the accord reached by the Libyan political parties in forming the Government of National Accord (GNA) and commended this important political step towards the preservation of the unity and sovereignty of Libya and the restoration of its security and stability.
The OIC Secretary General, Iyad Ameen Madani, also commended the crucial role played by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), neighboring countries and the international actors in sponsoring and supporting the different phases of the Libyan national dialogue.
The OIC called on the Libyan House of Representatives to endorse and support the Government for the benefit of the Libyan people and the realization of their security, stability and development.
