
The National Conference for Empowering Competences (NCEC) kicked off here on Tuesday under the auspices of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
The opening ceremony was attended by Acting National Assembly Speaker Mubarak Al-Khurainij, Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Acting Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and a host of Sheikhs, Ministers and senior officials.
Addressing the opening session, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Justice Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah underlined the importance of the event for enriching the relevant bodies with fresh ideas to support national competencies, laying the basis for appointing competent Kuwaiti youth in leading government posts.
He also urged the private sector to play due national role, creating new job opportunities for the Kuwaiti youth, to replace migrant labor.
Conference coordinator MP Yaqoub Al-Sanea addressed the event and commended the collaboration between the legislative and the executive powers which is for "the good of the nation." The participation in the conference is a true expression of the keenness by the executive power, topped by His Highness the Prime Minister, on that constructive cooperation which is likely to produce effective results to push the wheel of development forward, he added.
