Beirut - Arab Today

Addressing a multitude of Hezbollah affiliates and supporters on the last day of Ashura in Beirut's Southern Suburbs on Sunday, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stressed on adopting a firm stance against "Daesh".

"Daesh is the worst phenomenon that has emerged in our region, starting with the volume of losses and destruction it has inflicted on our regions and Islam, far-reaching the services it has provided to America, Israel and enemies of the nation," said Nasrallah.

Nasrallah called for holding accountable all those who prove their involvement in funding and helping Daesh, saying "the world has the right to know who created, funded and provided assistance to Daesh, whether they are regional or local forces."

He also called for "continuing the battle against Daesh to uproot it and end its existence."

Nasrallah deemed that Daesh was an extension to the Takfeerist, Wahhabist and Salafist line, which can produce Daesh at all times and all places.

Commenting on the Israelis' ongoing threat to Lebanon, Hezbollah Chief said "[Israel] does not hesitate to threaten Lebanon; it pursues its aggression in Syria and continues its violations in Lebanon."

"Our battle is with the Zionist invaders and not with the Jews as a religion; the Zionist movement exploited the Jews to establish an occupation project that previously served the British and now serves the Americans," he went on.

Addressing Jewish scholars and intellectuals, Nasrallah said "the Israeli government headed by Netanyahu is leading you to destruction. He only plans for war. He is working to push the region into a new war with Trump, and I tell you that you will pay dearly because of Netanyahu's foolish policies. He is also pushing for a war against Syria and Gaza under the pretext of a preemptive war."

Talking about the U.S. project in the region, the Secretary General went on to indicate that the U.S. Administration's aim was to divide the region.

"Do not trust in Americans or bet on them, you should rely on yourselves and count on your allies," Nasrallah urged the people of the nation.

"The tragedies [that we are witnessing] in our region are because of the current U.S. Administration, which is preparing for new wars not only in our region, but also in the world at large, whether in North Korea, China, Venezuela or elsewhere," Nasrallah stressed.

He renewed his condemnation of the American-Saudi aggression against Yemen and its people.

On the international level, Nasrallah expressed his solidarity with the Muslims in Myanmar, who were killed and displaced by a criminal regime, calling for "the rescue of these Muslims before they all are killed
