Cairo - MENA

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi stressed that Egypt's corruption heritage is too heavy, promising to do his best to uproot corruption. "As long as we agree to respect the state of law, I will confront anything by law and we are definitely capable of doing so," Morsi said while answering some Tweets on his account that focused on purging judiciary and media, intensifying police presence and stopping power cuts. Assuring citizens, he said "we are working hard to put into effect a well-drafted economic plan and stabilize the price of dollar but some patience and more work are needed to see tangible results." He added that the project to develop Suez Canal Axis is about to start, reiterating respect for all honest Egyptian businessmen and their role in serving Egypt. As for power cuts, he said there is a ministerial group working hard to avoid power outage in summer. He also stressed that he is following up efforts to restore the Egyptian funds that were smuggled by ex-Mubarak officials, assuring citizens that this issue will not be dropped by the expiry of the statute of limitations.
