
Moroccan Prime Minister Abdul Ilah Bin Kiran met here today with the HE Qatar Minister of Finance Ali Shareef Al Emadi who is currently on a visit to Morocco in the framework of strengthening and deepening the fraternal relations between the two countries.
Discussions during the meeting focused on ways to strengthen ties and mutual relations between the two countries.
Within the framework of the visit, Qatar and Morocco have signed a grant agreement for the financing of two development projects.
The agreement was signed by Qatari Minister of Finance, Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance, Mohammed Bou Said and Morocco's Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Aziz Akhannouch.
The total cost of the two projects is estimated at $170 million. The implementation of the two projects comes within a series of development projects undertaken by the Kingdom of Morocco in order to lay the foundations for development.
The first project, for the development of pastures and organizing movement in desert and semi-desert pastures in Sous-Massa Draa and Guelmim-Es Semara regions, aims to improve the pastoral environment of the region and to upgrade aspects of environment as well as living and educational conditions for the people of the region. The second project , related to irrigation, is part of the national programme for the expansion of irrigation to improve living conditions for the people of the region and to promote and develop their organizational and occupational capacities.
