More than 3 million pilgrims performed Hajj this year

The number of pilgrims from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and from abroad reached 3,161,573 during this year's Hajj, the Central Department of Statistics and Information said in a statement. The number of pilgrims from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was 1,408,641; while the number of pilgrims from abroad was 1,752,932. The vast majority of pilgrims from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are expatriates, the statement quoted the Saudi Press Agency as saying Saturday. The statement pointed out that the Central Department of Statistics and Information used the Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to collect field data.
