
The Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Ahmed Saad Omer, said that the Inauguration of the Land Eshkit -Qostul Crossing that links Sudan and Egypt is considered a significant success and affirmation of the distinguished relations between Sudan and Egypt.
He noted that the crossing will contribute to increasing the commercial exchange between Sudan and Egypt as well as facilitating the citizens' movement between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, accompanied by the Wali (governor) of the Northern State, Dr. Ibrahim Khidir, and the Director General of Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization, Awad Mohamed Ahmed Sukrab, stood on the work progress at Eshkit crossing and the coordination level between the concerned operating units.
A number of citizens coming from Egypt through Qostul- Eshkit crossing have affirmed the role and the importance of the crossing in facilitating the travelers' movement and the trade between the two countries.
He pointed out that the inauguration of crossing reduced much of the travelling cost, appreciating the significant efforts been exerted by the authorities in the two countries for easing the travelling procedures.
The Minister of Cabinet Affairs has inspected during the visit on the work progress at the Branch of Sudanese Standards and Metrology in Wadi Halfa.
He also visited the Martyr Al-Zubier Mohamed Salih Port, the Customs Authority.
