Police in Menufiya are on high alert to secure the Eidul Adha celebrations in the Delta city.
Troops have been deployed all around parks, prisons, police stations, the city hall building and places of worship to counter any riot attempts, the police chief said Saturday.
Forty bomb-disposal experts are on duty to dismantle any strange objects that might be found in the city, he said.
Checkpoints have also been set up on the highway between Cairo and Alexandria, the source added.
