
The Popular Commission for National Reconciliation in Lattakia met Saturday with some residents of al-Raml al-Janoubi, al-Gharaf, and Bustan al-Samakeh neighborhoods to communicate with their relatives who took up arms in order to help them settle their situation and benefit from the amnesty decree issued by President Bashar al-Assad lately.
Lattakia Mufti, Sheikh Zakariya Salwaia pointed out to the importance of national unity for preserving the homeland, appealing to those who carried weapons to abandon them and practice their role in confronting the aggression and terrorism that are launched against Syria.
For his part, priest George Hosh from the Roman Orthodox Church clarified that the meeting was launched for correcting the extraneous concepts that came to our society, which caused the aggression on the country, calling upon all to concert efforts for confronting the conspiracy and the Wahhabist thinking that are aimed at fragmenting the Syrian family.
