The Mauritanian President, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz has congratulated the government and the people of Sudan on success of the national dialogue and the lifting of the US sanctions imposed on Sudan.
President Abdel Aziz has described in his speech, at the outset of the meetings of the joint Sudanese - Mauritanian Higher Committee in the Republican Palace, the holding of the meetings as opportunity for the assessment of the priorities of joint cooperation between Khartoum and Nouakchott.
He said that the international developments necessitate the strengthening of the mechanisms of joint cooperation, especially in the fields of combating of terrorism and poverty .
He indicated that top priority should be given to the joint cooperation in the fields of water, mining, communications and information technology.
He expressed his country's strong desire to promote the mutual cooperation to serve the interest of the peoples of Sudan and Mauritania .
