Mass protests were staged Friday in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to show support for Al-Aqsa Mosque against attacks by Jewish settlers.
The rallies had been called for by national and Islamist movements in the Gaza Strip, such as Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, to show solidarity with Palestinians Al-Quds.
Ismail Radwan, a senior leader of Hamas, warned that any attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque would trigger a backlash in the whole region.
Al-Aqsa Mosque, which has always been a target of Israeli atrocities, has recently been under escalated attacks and attempts to divide it temporally and spatially between Muslims and Jews.
The Israeli government has been enforcing its illegal partition of the mosque and has lately been banning Palestinian worshipers access to the mosque, while settlers are allowed in.
