On behalf of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Makkah Governor Prince Khaled Al-Faisal led Saturday the ceremonial washing of the Holy Kaaba in the presence of several Saudi officials and Muslim diplomats. Charge d'affires at the Kuwaiti Embassy in Saudi Arabia Thiab Al-Rashidi was present in the holy ceremony. Speaking to KUNA following the event, the Kuwaiti diplomat said he was so happy to attend the washing of Kaaba, hailing great efforts by Saudi authorities to make it easy for pilgrims to perform Hajj. The Holy Kaaba, to which Muslims all over the world turn while praying, is washed twice a year in the hejira months of Muharram and Shaaban) using Zamzam mixed with rosewater.
