A senior foreign ministry official said Thursday that the Algerian-Moroccan relations and the Maghreb Union building are undermined by the "strategy of tension" and "Termination" that Morocco maintains "cleverly".
"It is regrettable that the bilateral relations between Algeria and Morocco and the Maghreb Union building be undermined by the strategy of tension and Termination that our Moroccan neighbors skillfully maintain with a rare consistency to hold hostage the fate of Maghreb peoples with the vain hope of seeing Algeria deny its main position in Western Sahara issue which complies with the strict international law," the senior official told APS, in response to the" frantic mistakes" by Moroccan foreign ministers.
"How else can we explain such a panic from Morocco as crucial events are approaching, in next October and April 2015, when UN personal envoy Christopher Ross, will make his report to the Security Council on the question of Western Sahara as part of the evaluation the entire political process," he said.
The contribution of the diplomat comes in response to "frantic mistakes" by Moroccan Foreign Minister Salah Eddine Mezouar, who directly involved Algeria in the Saharawi question during a recent interview with a foreign television.
According to the senior official, "it's this painful perspective that explains the rage and dismay of Mezouar, limited to panic and hysteria reactions aiming at holding Algeria responsible for the deadlock in the conflict settlement process and all the neutral observers blame the stubbornness of Morocco for make linger this colonial fact."
