Unidentified armed men kidnapped Libyan lawmaker Mustafa Abu Shakour in the capital Tripoli on Tuesday.
The unknown militants, driving a car, abducted Abu Shakour afternoon in the Andalus neighborhood in Tripoli, spokesman of Tripoli's joint security operation room Essam Al-Naas said in a press statement.
The lawmaker was taken to unknown place, the spokesman added.
Libya has sunk into chaos following the downfall and the killing of Muammar Gaddafi in the country's 2011 civil war. Heavily armed militias, born out of the rebel groups that toppled Gaddafi, now are the main power in the country.
