The Lebanese Army arrested seven people Monday in its ongoing crackdown on militants in the northern city of Tripoli, the military said.
The Army statement said two Lebanese and five Syrians were among the detainees.
It identified one of the Lebanese men as Ahmad Khalaf, wanted for opening fire and tossing hand grenades at Lebanese Army positions that left several soldiers wounded. The other, an unidentified Lebanese, is wanted on murder charges following shootings in Tripoli, according to the statement.
It said the Syrian men were arrested for entering the country without legal documents.
