U.S. and partner nations' military forces continued to attack ISIL terrorists in Syria on Sunday and Monday using fighter and remotely piloted aircraft to conduct three airstrikes, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced.
Separately, U.S. military forces used remotely piloted and rotary wing aircraft to conduct three airstrikes against ISIL in Iraq, said the announcement from CENTCOM headquarters in Tampa, Florida.
In Syria, one strike destroyed an ISIL tank near Taqba Airfield west of Ar Raqqah, the statement said. One strike destroyed two ISIL fighting positions south of Kobani, and one strike southeast of Dayr az Zawr destroyed an ISIL tank, it said. In Iraq, two strikes northeast of Fallujah struck two small ISIL units and destroyed two ISIL mortar placements and an ISIL bunker, it said. An airstrike west of Ramadi damaged an ISIL-held building, it said. Belgium and Britain also participated in the airstrikes, CENTCOM said.
