Kuwait's Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) will distribute the ninth batch of "government houses" in Sabah Al-Ahmad City.
It said in a statement on Wednesday that 210 houses, each of a 600-sq-m space, would be handed over to the citizens, calling on those whose names are mentioned in the announcement of eligible applicants to report to the PAHW headquarters in South Surra, noting that they should carry necessary papers with them.
The authority warned that names of those who would fail to show up would be deleted from the list of citizens eligible to be given residential units, that the absentee's name would not be included in the next announcement unless reasons for failure to turn-up have been clarified.
Separately, the PAHW reported signing a contract with a local company to establish utility facilities and public buildings as well as demarcating separation lines of plots at the site of Abu Hlaifa residential project.
The KD 2.194 million contract will be implemented in 540 days, covering 171 plots, each of a 400-sq-m space. Infrastructural work, as stipulated by the contract, includes building stores, power relay stations and a mosque.
Paper price of the plot is set at KD 15,000. Benefactors cannot relinquish, swap or sell the plot before 10 years after taking delivery of the unit.
The State of Kuwait offers housing units to citizens on basis of long-term soft loans. The units are either in the form of built houses or land plots.
With population growth, residential districts have been expanded and new ones have been built with full, integrated utilities, public parks, clinics and cooperative stores as well as other modern facilities. (end) fz.rk
