
Palestinian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Tayseer Garadat said the visit by Kuwait Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah to Palestine later in the day will be a landmark event in the Kuwaiti-Palestinian relations which have witnessed a notable progress over recent years.
In statements to the Palestinian News Agency (MA'AN), Garadat said the improvement in the two sides relations have resulted in opening an embassy for Palestine in Kuwait, noting that Sheikh Sabah's visit to Palestine is a big achievement.
He also noted that several agreements will be signed during the visit between the Palestinian and Kuwait foreign ministries concerning cooperation and political coordination at Arab, regional and international fora.
An agreement will also be clinched on establishing a joint economic and political committee to be held on regular bases, Garadat added.
He also said the visit acquires special importance as it is the first of its kind by a Kuwaiti official since 1967.
