Kuwait Fire Service Directorate said six fire departments were able to control a fire which broke out in an under-construction building in Al-Ahmadi on Sunday.
The fire only caused material damage to the building belonging to Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and stretching over 90 square meters, Deputy Director General of the Fire Fighting and Human Resources Sectors Khalid Al-Mekrad told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
The directorate is running an investigation to reveal the causes of the fire, said Al-Mekrad, praising the efforts of firemen in safeguarding people's lives and the public properties.
Deputy CEO for Administrative and Financial Affairs at (KOC) Saad Al-Azmi said the fire first broke out in an under-construction building north of Al-Ahmadi then it caught with stocks of wood in another under-construction building of the company.
Firemen from the (KOC) fire department and the directorate's fire departments rushed to the site of the incident and cooperated in extinguishing the fire, Al-Azmi noted.
