
Kuwait has expressed deep concern towards the political turmoil in Yemen that is affecting the fellow Arab country's security and economic welfare, said a senior Kuwaiti diplomat here late Tuesday.
Kuwaiti permanent envoy to the UN, Ambassador Masnour Al-Otaibi, said in a letter to the UNSC leadership that the international community should get involved and support Yemen in its current predicament, helping the government there to seek peaceful transition of power and solidifying notions of national unity and stability.
Al-Otaibi called for supporting the GCC initiatives concerning Yemen and also stressed the importance of backing up UNSC resolutions connected with the matter.
