Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director-General of the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources Affairs (PAAFR) Nabila Al-Khalil said here on Sunday that PAAFR has a plan for the development and restoration of marine control centers in the country.
Al-Khalil told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that fishing in the territorial waters conform to the laws and regulations of PAAFR, adding that the sizes and quantities of shrimp in international waters adjacent to the territorial waters are "promising and better than last year." She added that there are 90 fishing boats that are authorized to operate during the shrimp fishing season this year within territorial waters, referring to the shrimp fishing period in international waters which began in September and will continue until next January.
She pointed out that the authority is working to complete establishment of a center in the port of Doha with an area of 600 square meters and another center in Khairan, stressing the importance of the role played by PAAFR in the protection of the marine waters of Kuwait.
