Kuwait and Palestine inked Sunday an agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on political cooperation between the two Arab countries.
The agreement and MoU were signed by Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Malki with the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
"The agreements would help expand cooperation and consultations between the countries," Kuwait Foreign Minister said in joint press conference with Al-Malki after the signing ceremony.
The agreement stipulates for the creation of a joint committee for political cooperation between the two governments and the MoU stipulates for the political consultation between Kuwaiti and Palestinian foreign ministries.
For his part, Al-Malki welcomed the signing of the agreement and MoU.
"We are looking forward towards starting consultations to serve the interests of the two states and peoples," he said.
