Kuwait on Friday called on the Arab League to hold an urgent Foreign Ministers' meeting to discuss the deterioration situation in Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli aggression on the enclave killing and wounding many Palestinians, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
Kuwait's permanent representative to the Arab League Aziz Al-Daihani said, Kuwait in its capacity as rotating president of the Arab League summit, sent an official invitation to the Secretariat today calling for an urgent Foreign Ministers' meeting to discuss Gaza.
He said Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah has been in constant contacts with the Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby regarding the Israeli onslaught on the strip that killed at least 100 people and injured many others.
These contacts, said Al-Daihani, resulted in a statement calling on the UN Security Council (UNSC) to live up to its responsibilities and stop the Israeli aggression as well as protect the Palestinian civilians.
