Kurdish Peshmerga forces are expected to arrive in the Syrian town of Ain Al-Arab (Kobane) in coming hours, a Syrian monitoring group said.
Scores of Peshmerga combat forces will arrive in Ain Al-arab from Tal Shaeer in the coming hours, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said in a statement.
SOHR said earlier today that forces from the opposition Syrian Free Army entered Kobane from Turkey.
Meanwhile, 22 members of the Kurdish people protection unit were killed in clashes with Islamist militants in the east and south of Kobane.
The Peshmerga forces will attempt to step up the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL).
