Amman - Petra

His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Thursday stressed the importance of providing high-quality and modern security services to citizens. During a meeting with Director General of the Public Security Department (PSD) Major General Hussein Majali, the King emphasised the importance of safeguarding people's rights, preserving security and stability, and enforcing the law in a humane manner that guarantees justice and equality. The Monarch also noted that the department's improvement strategies should be based on enhancing justice, equality and respect of human rights. Voicing his confidence in the abilities of PSD personnel, the King commended their efforts to provide quality humanitarian and security services to citizens and protect their lives and property. For his part, Majali briefed the Monarch on the recently established liaison office for retired PSD personnel, which will be available at every security department and police station in the country and will be run by the ex-servicemen themselves to boost partnership with society. Also on Thursday, Majali inaugurated the liaison office at the PSD. The office will follow up on the conditions of former police personnel and will benefit from their expertise in conducting research and studies.
