The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the Centre of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi, Tadweer, and the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, have recently celebrated the 46th UAE National Day.

The event was attended by Saeed Al Mehairbi, Acting General Manager of Tadweer, Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, Director-General of the Khalifa Foundation, Dr. Hilal Al Kaabi, Acting Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, and the employees of the three entities, in addition to a number of students and several media representatives.

On the occasion of the 46th National Day, Al Khouri expressed his loyalty and gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates.

Commenting on the significance of National Day, Al Khouri said, "The comprehensive developmental renaissance and unique achievements of our nation reflect the creative thinking, ambition and high spirits that our wise leadership showed, manifesting their true willpower and loyalty in cultural achievements and huge projects in all fields and on all levels, positioning the UAE as a global example of leadership and excellence on regional and international levels.

"Not only was the unity of the Emirates a good omen for Emiratis, it also played a major role in developing neighbouring countries, earning the Emirates the title of the world’s largest donor of development assistance by the United Nations. This came out of its belief that a strong country is one that achieves happiness for its people and plays a positive role in the development of poor communities."

Al Mehairbi added, "I would like to offer heartfelt wishes to the generous people of the UAE, for their ongoing efforts in contributing to the progress and development of the UAE, encouraging the UAE and its people to set a perfect example, among other nations. We promise our wise leadership that we will work hard to push the wheel of progress forward and achieve more accomplishments."

Dr. Al Kaabi said, "Our celebration of National Day reminds us of the great efforts that were made by the nation’s founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the late founders of the Emirates in establishing the union and providing support worthy of a modern country, in the face of the challenges that stormed the region, presenting one of the most successful trials of unity, cohesion and advancement, with their vision and foresight and developing on every level.''
