US Foreign Secretary John Kerry urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cancel Israel's decision to confiscate lands in Bethlehem and Hebron, said a media source Wednesday.
Israeli media said that the two officials have discussed preparations to resume talks on the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip next month.
Meanwhile, Kerry will meet in Washington with Palestinian delegates who are expected to propose a plan to end the Israeli occupation and to establish an independent Palestinian state within three years.
Earlier this week, Israel confiscated nearly 1,000 acres of privately-owned Palestinian land, making this unprecedented move the largest one in Israeli transgression history.
Critics of Netanyahu's move state that he is not interested in realizing a two-state solution. (end) ng.sq
