
The Higher Population Council in cooperation with the ICF international on Sunday started a two -week training workshop on the "Analysis of trends based on the results of the Population and Family Health Surveys in Jordan." The workshop will enhance and develop the skills and capabilities of national organizations in analyzing the results of these surveys in Jordan for the years 1990-2012 using SPSS programs.
The survey aims to contribute towards evaluating population policies and health programs in the Kingdom and providing interested researchers and experts with indicators for analyzing demographic trends and conducting comparative international, regional and national studies.
The participants will focus on issues, including child health, nutrition, maternal health and family planning in order to come up with trends regarding 20 selected indicators with their interpretations and statistical significance.
The workshop brings together participants from the Ministries of Health, Education and Labor, the Departments of Statistics and Civil Status & Passports, Higher Population Council, National Council for Family Affairs, Jordanian Nursing Council, the Higher Council for Science and Technology, King Hussein Foundation, Mutah University, Royal Medical Services, The Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET).
The Higher Council aims to provide information and population indicators that will assist policy makers in developing strategies and national development plans and supporting the participation of government and civil society organizations in the planning, management and implementation of development programs and projects.
