Senate President Abdul Raouf Rawabdeh on Tuesday welcomed a senior Algerian parliamentarian and said Jordan is keen to cement ties with his country as also with all other North African nations.
Rawabdeh told Ibrahim Boulahya, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Algerian National Assembly, that His Majesty King Abdullah II had asked all state institutions to work for forging close ties with all brotherly Arab countries, including Algeria.
He said Algiers' political stances are in consonance with Jordan's own positions, stressing the Kingdom's support to Algeria due to the "tragic" bloody conflict in neighbouring Libya. The Algerian official praised Jordan's policy, which calls for peaceful solutions, delineated by His Majesty King Abdullah II at various international forums.
The Senate chief also received Iranian Ambassador to Jordan Mojtaba Ferdousi Pour for a discussion on Jordanian-Iranian ties, particularly in the parliamentary field.
The Iranian envoy hailed Jordan's development drive, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, in various fields.
