
Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, on Saturday, called on ministries and public institutions and departments to adhere to and comply with article 4 / C / 3 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities act No. 31 of 2007, and its amendments.
The aforementioned article states that the Kingdom's approach towards disabled citizens is informed by Arab and Islamic values, Jordan's constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the principles and provisions laid down in international conventions on the rights of persons with disabilities. The article 4 / C stresses equal opportunities and prohibits discrimination against people on the basis of disability.
In a circular to the ministries and public institutions, Ensour stressed the government's keenness when it comes to application of laws, regulations, instructions and international agreements with respect to persons with disabilities and their right to work.
