
The Lower House of Parliament continued on Wednesday its debate on the 2014 Judiciary Independence Draft Law and approved a number of its articles.
During a session chaired by House Speaker Atef Tarawneh, the lawmakers also approved an article related to mechanisms for holding the Judicial Council sessions and another one on duties of the Council, especially those related to the affairs of judges, their appointment, promotion and procedure governing the termination of their services.
Tarawneh pointed to a memorandum from 46 deputies that called for reconsidering the 4th Article which was approved by the Lower House in its previous session.
