The Jordanian government has welcomed the signing of a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) initiative to end the crisis in Yemen and ensure peaceful transition of power. In a statement to Jordan News Agency (Petra), Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said that Jordan hopes to the GCC agreement resolves the crisis in Yemen and leads to a smooth and organized of power to bring back stability and safeguard Yemen''s unity, territorial integrity, and independence. Judeh paid tribute to the tremendous effort by the GCC, which has brought the successful achievement, haling in particular the dedicated efforts by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in achieving this agreement. Meanwhile, Jordan has welcomed the speech delivered by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain after receiving the final report of a fact-finding committee on the recent incidents in the country. Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said that Jordan highly values the true efforts and commitment of King Hamad to unveil facts in a transparent and neutral manner. Jordan, he added, also values the reform march adopted by the Bahraini monarch. The Kingdom has confidence that the Bahraini leadership and people are keen on their country''s national unity, Judeh said. The minister reiterated the Kingdom''s keenness to provide all means of support to enhance stability in Bahrain and stand firm against those who plot against the country and its people.
