Amman - XINHUA

Jordan's Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Monday reiterated call for increased aid to deal with the influx of Syrian refugees, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

At a meeting with a U.S. official delegation, the premier said Jordan is home to 1.3 million Syrian refugees that place pressure on several sectors including eduction, health, energy, among others.

Jordan's suffering increased after the closure of its border with Iraq and Syria due to the regional conditions, he said.

Ensour said regional turmoil greatly affected Jordan and harmed its economy.

On the Palestinian issue, Ensour called for finding a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.

The premier called for enforcing international resolutions related to the Palestinian issue.
