Tunisian PM Mehdi Jomaa
Tunis - TAP

Interim Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa called, Tuesday, on the ambassadors to strive on the diplomatic level to achieve success of the investment congress to be held next September 8 in Tunis. He recommended to multiply the economic initiatives to attract foreign capitals in Tunisia which provides important investment opportunities.
At the closure of the annual conference of heads of diplomatic and consular mission, Jomaa said that the government is planning to enlarge prerogatives of the economic cell created recently in the Foreign Ministry. A structure tasked with co-ordinating between the different diplomatic missions on one hand and the ministerial departments on the other.
This cell will be entrusted with presenting, in collaboration with the competent structures, practical proposals likely to boost the presence of the Tunisian products (goods and services) on the foreign market, he said. In this connection, the Prime Minister highlighted the vital role of the ambassadors in the follow-up of the results of the series of visits paid recently in several countries. One of the tenets of foreign policy consists in the non- interference in the internal affairs of the country, he asserted.
He called on the ambassadors to establish efficient communication channels with the countries and the international and regional organisations with which Tunisia could collaborate in matters of fight against terrorism. Tunisia stands, along with the neighbouring countries, with Libya so as to help it re-establish its stability without interference in its internal affairs, Mehdi Jomaa emphasised. He reminded the congress of Libya’s friends organised last July 12-13 in Hammamet.
