A senior Iranian legislator lashed out at the leaders of some Arab countries for supporting terrorism in the Middle East region, saying that Takfiri terrorism is the outcome of the treacherous acts of such Arab leaders.
"The crimes taking place in Syria, Iraq, Libya and other Muslim countries today are the outcome of the treason of the leaders of some Muslim countries and the wickedness of the triangle of the US, Britain and the international Zionism," member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mohammad Saleh Jokar said on Sunday.
He noted that the US and its allies have tried hard to create differences among the Muslim countries.
The senior lawmaker said that violent and Takfiri groups have been formed to weaken the Muslim world and distract attention of the Muslims from their main enemies which are the US and Israel.
On Saturday, a senior Iranian lawmaker cautioned that the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) terrorist group is taking advantage of differences among different political groups in the Middle East in the interest of Israel.
"The ISIL is a protégé of the security services of the US and Saudi Arabia, and is pursuing the Zionist regime's objectives as its infantry force," Rapporteur of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Seyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said.
He pointed to Iraq's political developments, and said, "The Takfiri terrorists declared the so-called Islamic caliphate by misusing the differences existing among Iraq's parties and exactly at the time when the country was preparing to form a (new) government after the elections."
Naqavi Hosseini noted that the Muslim countries of the region should help Iraq in all areas once the new government starts work.
