Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Moghazi resumed his tour in South Sinai after his car had a traffic accident in South Sinai governorate on Friday morning.
Neither the minister, nor his companions were injured, Khaled Waseef, the spokesman for the ministry, asserted to MENA.
The minister is on a two-day visit to the South Sinai Governorate to inaugurate three projects implemented by the ministry for protection from flash floods, he said, noting that the inauguration coincides with South Sinai's national day celebrations.
Moghazi said the Irrigation Ministry has conducted construction works, worth EGP 350 million, over the past two years for protection from the torrents.
The minister also opened a torrential rain protection facility in Taba valley at a EGP 50 million cost.
The government has witnessed torrents that caused damage amounted to EGP 800 million in 2014.
