Iraqi president calls for united front against Daash
The president of Iraq on Friday applauded the international coalition supporting his government against Daash extremists who have seized large parts of northern and western Iraq. Addressing the annual U.N. General Assembly debate, President Fuad Masum called for greater regional cooperation against the insurgent group, which he said “thrives on crises and disputes.†Masum said the Daash group transcends countries and continents, and destroying it requires a united international front.
