Iraqi parliament speaker Salim al-Jabouri said on Saturday that Jordan has played a pivotal humanitarian role in Iraq by providing aid to people in several trouble spots in the war-torn country. Jabouri, who led a parliamentary delegation, spoke as he began a three-day trip to Jordan during which he will meet Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh and Senate President Abdul Raouf Rawabdeh.
Welcoming the Iraqi delegation at the airport, Tarawneh said the talks with the lawmakers, who represent Iraqis across the political spectrum, will also include exchange of parliamentary expertise between the two countries.
