
Human Rights Minister Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman received National Institution of Human Rights (NIHR) Board of Commissioners President Dr. Abdulaziz Abul who submitted the first annual NIHR Report.
The minister stressed the importance of the first annual NIHR Report, stressing particularly its objectivity, impartiality and independence in outlining achievements and recommendations which are aimed at protecting and anchoring human rights in Bahrain.
"The first NIHR Annual Report reflects Bahrain’s firm determination to pursue the reform process and honour all human rights commitments and obligations in compliance with the constitution and international norms and covenants", he said in the meeting which was attended by members of (NIHR) Board of Commissioners.
The two sides discussed cooperation between the ministry and the national watchdog under the memorandum of understanding which they had signed. They also agreed to set up a joint committee to implement the memorandum of understanding.
